Questions Before You Call
Short answers for Montgomery roads and the towns on this dispatch. If the vehicle is in a lane, call instead of reading.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do you need from me before a truck is sent?
Call (334) 336-6464 with the vehicle, the road, and what it is doing. On I-65 or I-85, add the exit and the direction. You hear a price before anyone is assigned. If the scene does not match that description, dispatch calls before the work changes.
Is a person answering at 3 a.m. and on holidays?
Yes. The same desk answers overnight, on weekends, and on holidays. You will not land in a mailbox that waits until morning.
Which Montgomery roads do you cover, and which towns?
Montgomery itself, including I-65 from Hope Hull across the Alabama River, I-85 out to Taylor Road and EastChase, Eastern Boulevard, South Boulevard, Troy Highway, and Wetumpka Highway. Town pages cover Prattville, Millbrook, Wetumpka, and Pike Road.
Can a shop or a property manager get proof of insurance?
Ask dispatch and we will send a certificate of insurance when a shop, a lot, or an insurer needs it. We do not publish a license number on this site.
Will you talk with my insurer after a wreck?
If you ask us to, we will speak with the adjuster and send the itemized invoice and the scene photos from the accident tow. We do not choose your body shop.
The car is in a ditch and will not roll. Is that a normal tow?
That is a winch-out. Tell dispatch how far the vehicle is from the pavement and whether it is upright. You will hear a recovery price before a truck is sent.
Can I drive the car to your lot?
There is no public counter and no street address to plug into a map. This is a service-area company. We come to the vehicle.
Emergency Towing
- On I-65 or I-85, the exit and the direction come before the make of the car.
- Hazards on. People out of the travel lane only if there is a safe place to stand.
- A 2 a.m. call is quoted the same way as a 2 p.m. call. You hear the number first.
- A car already off the pavement may be a winch-out. Say so.
Accident Towing
- The vehicle waits until officers release the scene.
- Bring a shop name if you have one. We do not assign one.
- Ask for scene photos and an itemized invoice if an insurer will want them.
- Two vehicles on one shoulder should be described as two vehicles.
Flatbed Towing
- All-wheel drive, a missing wheel, or a low car belongs on a flatbed.
- A locked steering column, or a dead battery that blocks neutral, changes the load.
- Campus decks and downtown garages have height limits. Say if you are under a roof.
Long-Distance Towing
- The drop needs a street address. A city name will not produce a quote.
- Someone has to receive the vehicle at the other end.
- If the car is still in a lane, get it safe first and set the long tow after.
Private Property Towing
- The person who controls the lot authorizes the specific vehicle.
- Have the description and the space or drive it is blocking.
- Trucks are not sent out to hunt for cars in retail rows.
Winch-Out
- Say whether the vehicle is upright and how far it is from the pavement.
- Keep people out of the line where a cable would run.
- The recovery price is separate from a standard tow.
Vehicle Lockout
- A child locked inside and in distress is a 911 call first.
- A license needs to show the car is yours.
- Keys only in the trunk should be mentioned with the quote.
Jump Start
- Say car or diesel pickup before the pack is chosen.
- If it starts and dies again, it may need a tow instead.
- The technician has to be able to stand somewhere other than a live lane.
Fuel Delivery
- Gasoline or diesel, said before anyone leaves.
- On I-65 or I-85, give the last exit and your direction.
- The delivery reaches a station. It is not a full fill.
Flat Tire Change
- A usable spare makes this a tire change. No spare makes it a flatbed.
- Locking lug nuts need the key.
- Do not stand on the traffic side of the car.
